After extensive research and comments from folks here, I zeroed on BenQ ht2050, Epson 2045 or Optoma hd142x.

I pulled trigger on Epson 2045 (it's on its way so can't share any pics yet).. Will add once my set up is complete..

Good luck!
Bought this last time and it's a fantastic screen. Although it looks kinda rink a dink in the picture I was blown away by the quality of the materials. You can see some wrinkles on the screen in the product picture, but those can be removed by tightening the straps a little. Mine had no wrinkles out of the box, however there is a horizontal crease in the center of the screen but it absolutely disappears when the movie is on.
The only negative is having to break it down, bring in all the A/V equipment late at night after watching a movie and having a few beers.

Can anyone recommend a decent portable projector?

I have the projector below from Amazon for $84. Like most in this price range, the area/room needs to be pretty dark, definitely after sunset outdoors. At 100+ inches, video is still sharp but more like 480 resolution not 1080 as advertised. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N8WU...IzbSFF20PX

I know it specifically says outdoor, but do you think it would be possible to use it indoors as well?

Good choice, thats what I have and use most of the time outside in the summer. Tonight will also watch a movie outside. This starts up quick and is very bright and the 1080p is excellent IMHO. I project it on a similar screen only mine is 132" but its by same company and paid $160 for it 2 yrs ago. Very tough material. I had some kids over for my sons bday and we watched T2 at night and they had all finished playing nerf gun wars in the hood. They all started shooting at the T1000 and booing him. Arnold got the best of em as well. I checked for blemishes the next morning and its as good as new so it takes a beating. I also leave it overnight in 100 degree weather and its still good. I would not leave this in rain however or would not leave this in heat all summer as the white can turn yellow with UV beating.

I bought 2 Benq HT2050's during a Staples price mistake, one mounted inside and one to use outside, great projector. We just watched Beauty and The Beast 2017 in 3D on this screen under the stars, fantastic.

Anybody have this screen? Trying to find out if the legs are removable. Didn't really see if it's just the feet that are removable or the legs also. I'd basically want it so I can take the legs off but leave the screen on the frame for indoors then just attach the legs for outdoors.
