This is actually a very good 1080p camera. I have 2 of them. Few tips. During setup set location to China to get all the features. When you run it in Mi Home app, everything will be in English. The Mi Home app is well designed. It give push notification with motion tracking.

(?) I have had three of these, China versions, for two and a half years or more. They still work great.
And what are these features you get by setting location to China? Not a whole lot they can't do already. I wish they had the ability to set the area motion detection. That way I could turn the alerts on for the ones i have pointed outside.

Too bad GearScam will never send it to you
I have only bought the Xiaomi purifier from them and took 2 weeks to ship from China to the Bay Area. Everything was fine. I suggest paying with PayPal for extra protection.

i filed a claim on the older version of the camera that ended up only working in mainland china (mac address block) and i won the paypal claim but they wanted me to mail it back at my cost to get a refund... i'm pretty sure the postage would have cost me way more than the $20 i paid for the camera... what bs

I bought one of these a while back and returned it. You have to use their app rather than it supporting standard IP cam apps. I also could find no way to lock it down so it couldn't be viewed outside my network. It's a shame they hamstrung a nice product with terrible software.

I did, they sent my a stress ball and earrings instead of headphones, didn't respond on their site, slickdeals, or PayPal when I filed a case. Got a refund after a month. They are a scam, they take your money, don't send you what you ordered and hope you forget that you paid them.
same thing happened to me, i just threw it away... should of reported it to paypal, was a couple months ago... Frown

4GB gives you about 8-9 hours, 8GB 16-18 hours, etc at 1080p 20fps

You can back it up to FTP or to your NAS drive for nearly unlimited recording. I have it set up to push to a Qnap 212 NAS.

Thanks. Without internet how can I FTP or use NAS drive? Do you want me to connect physically using usb or micro usb?

Can I record on external hard drive?
