Also the Arlo Pro is better with regards to motion detection and has less lag upon detecting motion to record. In addition you can use USB power and even add a solar charger to the Arlo Pro. ( please see the SD post on the solar charger and USB charger )

Yes you can purchase rechargeable CR123 batteries ( 4x per camera )

Numerous lag issues in the entire system, some of which are due to the nature of cloud service design and your own ISP / router issues.

No.

At $450 this is a good price, and with Costco's great return policies this makes a good opportunity for anyone interested to pick up a kit and test it to see if it works well enough for your use case.

That said, WiFi and completely wireless system such as the Arlo / Arlo Pro will not be as reliable as a wired system and make for poor security camera solutions when you need reliability. IF you need a reliable security camera system you will have to go for a wired solution.

I am currently using an Arlo camera to augment my wired cameras so that I can get another angle of coverage for a location which was hard for me to wire. The Arlo / Arlo Pro actually works well that way.

Remember if you need to ID a suspect the Arlo / Arlo Pro camera due to their wide angles and 720p res need to be very close to the suspect. IIRC I calculated 5.6 feet to meet ID specs of 100ppf.

in case you're military or vet, saw someone on another thread post a 17% code (welcome249) at aafes.com (online exchange site) which brings the price of this set down to ~$415ish, no tax. hope this helps!

Is this the pro version? I don't see that. If not, is the pro worth getting over this one?

I was considering the Arlo Pros before but read that there were lag issues. Has that been solved for?

Sales tax based on shipping address. They are for my office in Portland (0%) and I live in a 10.4% sales tax zone. Offer ends 8/12 and won't be in Portland by then.

Click on the compare link to the left to see the differences...

http://www.arlo.com/en-us/products/default.aspx

Looks like bigger field of view, audio, better base station (w/siren and local backup...this can be purchased separately and added to regular Pro cameras too), and more.

I have 3 Blink cameras at home but still need some outdoor camears. I'm still debating on whether I should get the Blink XT add-ons or go with the Arlo Pros for my outdoor camera.
