This was $13 per 42lb bag at my local store. It's $15.54 on their website. Regular price is $24.82. At $13 or $15 it's a good deal. There was a pallet in the garden center marked clearance with this 29-0-4 fertilizer. They had 13-13-13 on clearance also for a very good price.

It's time to seed/fertilize the lawn in 1-2 months, so grabbed 4 bags. When I got home, I looked for something comparable online and found that Lowes has Sta-Green 5M fertilizer that's 29-0-5 for $10 for 19lbs. That price is 20% off also, so it doesn't come close.

The numbers (29-0-4) represent the main fertilizer elements in the particular fertilizer: N-P-K. 29%N (nitrogen), 0%P (phosphorus), 4%K (potassium). Grass needs lots of N and less P and K. Flowers and veggies need more P and K. You can google: "NPK numbers" and get a lot more info.

What is your location. Because all of these box stores offer discounts/sales regionally and seasonally.

Personally I buy Milorganite from Mills Fleet Farm stores to fertilize everything. It's dirt cheap if you have a location near you.

Yeah, I'm seeing $7 at a store near me too, 42 in stock.

A spreader to accompany it:

Scotts Turf Builder EdgeGuard Mini Broadcast Spreader (~$15)

Does the bag has details in what spreader setting should be used.

Yes they do! (Usually) I've purchased store brands (Meijer and Walmart) and it has Scott's spreader details on it!

I am a newbie and I don't know what numbers represent. I tried googling it but couldn't find a good answer either. I live in Texas.
Any help will be appreciated.

Here is a good article [growingagreenerworld.com].

Is this for just a lawn or fruit trees or flowers?
