There are better brands than Patagonia? I sure do not know of any that are more environmentally and socially conscientious. I also cannot name a company more spot on politically when doing good for the world. Saying they went overboard just sounds like negative trolling that is way off the mark.

Marmot is of comparable quality but REI is not quite and Gerry is nowhere close to Patagonia. REI has a year warranty on their products where Patagonia is lifetime. Educated Slickdealers see the value in buying a product once and never having to buy it again like you would with many other brands.

Personally I buy Patagonia stuff because it's comparable in price to TNF and is in general better quality. Their effort on the environment and sustainability is just a cherry on top. Why do people feel like they have a need to talk garbage politics every where they go?

Not to mention the whole "things are not made in USA anymore" BS. Give me a break.

But to be honest, it works better that way. If these nut jobs stay out of this sale then more for the rest of us. Torrentshell is a great jacket.

Meh, the sale is okay but there are better brands out there that don't charge as much.

I used to be a big fan but have moved on after they went overboard on the political crap. Plus nothing is made in the states anymore.

Genuinely curious what better brands for less $$$ you had in mind.

Between this brand, and Timbuk2, which brand has the more durable packs with better warranty?

I know this brand is more for the REI/outdoors crowd, but is that the only advantage?

All in personal preference but I like "The North Face" a little better and normal priced things seem to a little cheaper. They have a sale section usually too.
