ugh, I have a bunch of walmart gift cards, a canoe a hobie and 2 cheap sit ins already but this is tempting for a small lake beater, loaner boat.

Thanks - Bought 2. First time kayak owner so we will see how it goes. Ship/Pick up at store and saved $49 shipping so 2x 10 footer fishing SOT kayaks for under $500 is great deal.

I bought this one for $165 + tax. [walmart.com] It looks like it's the same body, but without the storage in the back or the rod holders.

I ordered on Aug 9. Walmart.com said pickup by Aug 18.

It's showing shipped at Aug 15 late night.

Chat with Walmart at Aug 16, they had no idea on tracking information and suggested to check back.

Since I need to prepare for the pickup by using my friend's truck, i need to get this info one or 2 days before to let him know. Checked back on Aug 17, tracking number with Yellow freight carrier provided and tracking shown estimated delivery on Aug 18. Again, still no tracking number on Walmart.com but you have to talk to the online representative.

Checked again with YRC today. It's picked up at Aug 14 but still in Salt Lake City and delivery postponed to Aug 22.
Not sure if it would delay again..

I have had one of these for a few years now, and it's been good to me. It's not fast, but is quit stable, I have delt with 3' waves/wake before just fine. They don't track very well, which is expected with the flat bottom of the hull so expect to have to make corrections when not paddling. They handle weight well, I have had it loaded to about 280 and it handled great.

Be prepared for a wet butt. The scupper holes are pretty low in the seat and water WILL splash up, easily fixed with some good plugs. The seat is ok for about 2 hrs before my butt goes numb, I added another seat on top of It to fix that.

Both hatches are open to the hull, and i have yet to find a bag or different hatch to fit the opening. I would thread an eyelet into the hatch lid and tie a dry bag to it.

Good first kayak, it's safe and fun. Mine is getting replaced this week with a vibe sea ghost 13' but I'll miss the tamerack.

To the people that ordered it and picked up, did you get the 100 or 120? When I went to pick up mine they said that's what they got and good thing I checked, the one that was shipped to walmart is model 100. I had the clerk call corporate and they refunded this order and place the 120 on the spot.

The two kayaks that you are asking about are actually the same model of kayak and there are not any differences between the two.

In addition, if you go to lifetime.com and check out their kayaks, there are a lot of other models based on the same hull (some cheaper due to less fishing gear, and some more expensive due to color choices - but essentially all are the same).

I went in for a Tahoma (same as Tamarack but without the fishing holders, one less hatch and no seat bottom cushion) because i preferred a brighter color. I can easily add the missing parts within a couple of hours but can't change the color.

Just noticed that Walmart is now listing a beige (light walnut) color of this kayak for a slightly higher price. Lifetime has Red but it doesn't appear to be available through Walmart.
