They can't use EBT to pay. It is just a discount on Prime if you have an EBT card.

It doesn't say you can use it to shop.

edit: for some reason the mobile app is only replying to your comment. sorry, meant for someone else again.
EBT cards are not just food stamps, they can also be loaded with funds like Cash assistance and welfare which can be spent however the recipient sees fit. Also, Amazon does sell food so food stamps can be spent on the site if they choose to take them

Are u under the impression you can use your ebt card for non food items on amazon? You cannot, and certainly you would agree that folks who need ebt are smart for shopping Slickdeals for cheap necessities.

If you have EBT it is a great deal.

Amazon just wants to know what percentage of their shoppers use EBT. Probably marketing research for their brick&mortor grocery stores. They surely want to crack into Wal-Mart's 50% share of monthly Food Stamps as well.

EBT and premium online services don't really go well together...

Now they won't feel bad when they go to the store loaded up with boxed meals and soda. Comes straight to the house so they can't be judged; disgusting.
Not feeling anything about Amazon getting siphoning the EBT revenue from the local grocery stores?

thought beso bought a grocer chain? Ebt is useful to many... I don't buy food or anything from Amazon due to taxes but I know folks that do. Ebt holders are getting a discount . Good. With the amount of cpn fraud that many do here, its a shame to point a white collar finger....Lowes's cpn is a prime ex.

Amazon can probably restrict that option. However, what wrong with sharing?
