There are two sets - the S1 set has creme handles and the N1 set has forged stainless steal handles. Otherwise the sets are the same.

Price wise the 22 piece set is priced at 749 at bed bath and beyond.

I see the 17 piece set priced at 300 at amazon but I think this appeared after the knives were priced at costco. Amazon has the N1 priced at 450. Knives are German steel but made in China

Newish knife brand with lots of recent "reviews". The inflated msrp prices are also a joke.

Personally I'd look elsewhere.
Victorinox is around the same price as these or you can get the same X50CrMoV15 steel from even cheaper brands.

I agree that it doesn't have the credibility of more established brands, but that's why I'm buying from Costco for peace of mind. As for the alternative knives you listed, they all lack the pleasing aesthetic and 100% steel body of the N1.

In for a set, thanks OP

That's the benefit of costco... I'll try it out at home and return it if I'm at all disappointed.

Yes, I'm glad I got them. Good combination of form and function. Their balance works well for me. Also look-up knife sharpening videos on YouTube if you're not familiar, they arrive very sharp but proper maintenance is key.

The N1 is still full priced at $250 for me. Am I doing something wrong?
