Plenti still owes me ~$40 from last year for purchases made through the shopping portal. I won't shop with them again. 10 x $0 is still $0.

These are precisely the 2 merchants they refused to pay me for. They "investigated" 3 times over the course of 7 months and concluded that they could not verify my purchases (even though I sent them receipts). Bulls**t.

Gotta read those terms. Newegg excludes almost everything.

"Your qualifying purchase can earn 10 Plenti points for every $1 spent on qualifying purchase. Not eligible on promotion codes with the following prefixes: EMC, EMP, NAF, DYN, MBLN. Not eligible on business-to-business (B2B) orders, pre-order items, e-mail promotions, warranties, Google offers, new customer promotions, cell phone service plan activations, items identified as loss leaders, or items returned within 30 days of the initial transaction. Not eligible on Apple products, accessories for Apple products, Bose products, Beltronics products, Escort radar and laser detectors, HP TouchPads, NVIDIA SHIELD products, video card accessories, video game consoles, AMD RX 480, AMD RX 470, or the GTX 1080ti. Not eligible on purchases made through Newegg Marketplace, Newegg Business, NeweggFlash.com, or Newegg Canada. Not eligible on purchases made with coupon or discount codes that are not found on this site. Not eligible on gift cards, gift certificates or any other similar cash equivalents."

It didn't have anything to do with the terms. They simply told me on 3 separate occasions that they could not verify that I purchased anything from NewEgg. This is in spite of my total showing on Plenti's website with points as pending and receiving copies of my receipts. If you peruse their Facebook page you'll find hundreds of comments from people experiencing the same issue, but they're buried among random posts because Plenti blocks people from posting new threads (because they routinely rip people off).

Here's one of their responses after waiting for several months:

Hello ****,

I'm writing to let you know we've investigated your
claim of missing points. Unfortunately, we're unable to
validate your purchases and will not issue any points to your
Plenti account.

Sincerely,
The Plenti Service Team

Hhmm...that along with all the exclusions is making me think twice about using this offer. Thanks for the heads up.

Verify or validate? Very different meaning in this case. Your post says verify which would be shady on plenti's part as you said. But their response you posted says validate, which could be a terms issues. I've had several cab sites that won't validate cash back for some clicks because i bought an excluded item or used a coupon that wasn't on their site, both in their terms.

This looks like a cluster waiting to happen. Too much like the SYW affiliate offers - and I take that back. It's actually worse that Shop Your Way, since their CSR's will ultimately pay up; you just have to wait months to call them.

Pass.

That was one of three different emails I received, each of which was worded a little differently. The subsequent responses, however, clarified that they were claiming that they couldn't find any evidence that I ordered anything. One email stated something about my failure to provide receipts, but it came after I offered he receipts a half dozen times and was simply told "we'll let you know once the investigation has been completed." Keep in mind that support is not located in the US anymore and the representatives ability to converse in English is worth of a C- grade. Also, not only did these orders appear on my account, but the points were listed as "pending." Plenti then deducted them before ever issuing them thereby leaving me with a negative balance. When I contacted them about this, they told me that it would balance out once I was credited in 90 days. In other words, let's say an order earned me 300 points. I was issued 0 points and had 300 points deducted from my account for a net total for that order of -300. It took me nearly 7 months just to get the negative balances reversed. For the purchases, I ultimately received about ~$20 out of ~$60 owed. On a couple of the orders, they reduced the points to some seemingly random amount with no explanation as to why. I've never had a problem with the automatic points at B&M locations (Rite Aid, Exxon/Mobil, Macy's), but this shopping portal thing was a nightmare.

For anyone who has doubts about this, it ended up working fine for me on a $1000+ Newegg purchase. I made sure to read the terms, turned off my ad-blocker when clicking through Plenti and now I have about $110 in Plenti points pending. It even worked with Masterpass checkout and the current $25 off $200 offer.

Wow, talk about being passive-aggressive. As stated in my previous posts, I abided by the terms and the pending transactions were displayed within my account, so there was no issue with tracking either. The problem was and is on Plenti's end. There are, literally, hundreds of posts on their Facebook page mirroring my experience. The posts are so common, in fact, that Plenti no longer even allows users to post new threads on their wall. Thus, the complaints are all buried within random threads created by Plenti. All of that said, I did not mean to imply that no one ever gets the points they earned. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't. If the points are just icing on a particular deal, then I'll still use Plenti provided I'm not giving up guaranteed rewards from e*ates or Giving Assistant. I'm not going to rely on them in order to make a deal though because my experience has taught me that getting the points you've earned from Plenti is a gamble and often requires hours of phone calls and emails.
