Costco Members Get a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S8 for $549 ($200 instant savings) or S8+ for $629 ($220 instant savings) with New Own Your Phone Program

$549.99

Costco launched a new "own your phone" program at Costco, where members get an everyday low price discount off of GS8 models (150 discount for GS8 and $170 discount on GS8+). Looks like an additional $50 is up for grabs during their 8/3-8/27 coupon period, making the discount $200 and $220, respectively. This price is even cheaper than the online unlocked deals and no trade in is required!

GS8: $549.99 final price plus tax. Requires postpaid activation/upgrade
GS8+: $629 final price plus tax. Requires postpaid activation/upgrade

It's not. Apparently, Costco/Membership Wireless has decided that zero percent EIPs are not a good idea, that most people just have $500 lying around to drop down on a phone.

This is a deal because you can walk into Costco any time and take advantage of the $150 or $170 savings from MSRP. Even at 0% financing, if the GS8 is not on sale at T-Mobile or another retailer, this breaks down to savings over the $30/ month being charged for 24 months. $30/mo for 24 months = $750 is what the phone costs on T-mobile's website right now:
https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...emory=64gb

The extra $50 savings brings the net savings to $200 or $220 off for GS8 and GS8+ respectively (instant, no MIR).

Of course there is BOGO sometimes available, but that requires 2 lines and not everyone has 2 or more lines.

Moral of the story... if you have a 0% CC, low interest CC, or have the cash to buy it, its a good deal.

Everything you said below is what we at SD call "wrong". It means not correct. Terrible deal...rightly TD

More then likely they will revert back to monthly installment 0% financing once they see inventory backlog stock up, unless they offer enough cash card back to get the price per unit down to 50% off otherwise buh bye Costco wireless.

No. Thats not my job. This us a bad deal.
That's my point... It's not a bad deal if it is the best price available right now.

Fantatic..then he should have posted in the "not a bad deal" forum

And are totally wrong...best deal at the moment means nothing. Doesnt make it a hot deal

it kind of does mean its a good deal if someone needs a phone now and can't wait for a better deal in a month or so. Have there been better ones? sure, will there be? ya probably. but for those who need to purchase one now is this the best deal out there? as far as I can find.. yes it is. If someone knows of a better deal please post it..my wife broke her phone and needs to purchase a new one. T-Mobile. saying there will be better deals is fine. but saying this isn't the best deal right now is wrong.
