Seems weird they're not tied to a particular email address. Like, what's the point of this little exercise?

Still too expensive. It may be better than the rift, but rift is $400 or less ($375 Newegg masterpass deal)

I don't think at least $200 more is justified

Agreed, still too expensive. But then again the Rift really needs a 3rd sensor for room scale (extra $60) so the price differential is more like $140 for comparable setups.

Rumors on the Vive Reddit say the codes might not be unique. Users posting they received the same $200 off from the system.

The worst part of this deal is the price of decent video cards right now

Rift doesn't handle room scale well even with another sensor because they're using video and that doesn't scale well. Too much processing power.

Are you sure it really needs a 3rd sensor, from what I've seen it's decent with just two

I got my rift for less than $350 with a unidays discount + eBay bucks

Unidays discount code are all but gone, doubt anyone is still trading them

Having gotten the oculus for $400, plus $60 for a sensor, plus $30 for a USB 3.0 add-in card to run it all, I'm up to $500 for that system. The vive is easily worth just $100 more if you get a $200 discount. Less wires, less USB hassle for roomscale, wider FOV, and built-in camera. I've only had oculus for a little over a week. It's nice, but I kind of wish I had waited.
