I paid $499 (darn!) and have been pretty happy with it.
Can't speak to color reproduction, but haven't seen any dead pixels and sharpness seems fine.
Stand isn't the greatest (a bit of flex) but seems secure.
The combination of connections (video, USB, etc.) is helpful.

that is an amazing price for the specs and panel quality
a better deal than most korean off-brand monitors that have no warranty in the USA

with AOC, you get decent warranty since they are state-side

In a screen this big, Id much rather have the better viewing angle of an IPS panel.

Well VA panels typically have better contrast ratios than IPS... but I agree that the IQ on IPS panels is typically better.

That said, no way an IPS panel is double the cost of VA. It's only marginally more expensive these days.

I picked up the 28" AOC 4K amazon had back in March---I am currently hooked up to a macbook pro 15" 2016 and it works great! Awesome for music creation with logic pro---so much surface to work on!

Computers.woot has a 28" Samsung 4K monitor at $250 today. if this deal is dead it's not a bad alternative.
