I use it for leftover ham. In fact, I cook 2 hams so there's lots of leftovers.

My kids love various cold cuts and they like it sliced very thin... the benefit of a machine like this for me is that it's cheaper to by large chunks and slice it myself in the thickness my kids like. It's easier to preserve it in chunks as well.

Any experience with this model out there? Reviews are harsh and there are obvious flaws that need tweaking. On the other hand, it has a pretty solid build and gear system it would seem. It's tough to buy high quality items that rarely get used, but I hate unreliable equipment when you need it!

Costco sells cooked turkey breast and ham hunks that you could use on these. The hunks are usually much cheaper per pound, as long as you think you can eat it all.
