Fry's has 200$ off along with zero tax for LG Gram laptops [frys.com] using their daily email promo codes.

UPDATE (8/20) - The $200 savings expired on 8/19, although Amazon has the 14 inch and 15 inch models for $200 less (tax extra).

UPDATE - B&H Photo Video also has two of the below laptops for the same $200 less along with no tax as well (links below). The offer ends August 19.

UPDATE - Fry's promo codes don't work on two of the laptops any more (the 14 inch touch i5 model, and the 13 inch non-touch i5 model). Prices for each laptop are listed below.

UPDATE - Amazon has lowered their prices to match for the 14 inch and 15.6 inch models. But tax needs to be paid extra.

Once you lift this laptop, you will never want to carry any another laptop ever again.

Weighing only a mind-boggling 2.4 lbs for the 15.6 inch, 2.14 lb for the 14 inch, and 2.07 lbs for the 13 inch, these laptops also have terrific features that are often lacking in many laptops such as outstanding battery life (up to 15 hours), multiple USB 3 Type A and C ports, and backlit keyboard.

brah do you even lift? jk, i've been wanting one of these for months, thanks for sharing Smilie

i am assuming that we need to sign up for one of those personal fry's promo codes..

almost bought a used one the other day from B&H and since i want to use this as a desktop replacement

for traveling.. i think i want one without all those miles, guys is this a good notebook for desktop replacement?

i am planing to run photoshop, adobe ilustrator, and probably 2 web browsers running at the same time

will it perform good or will it start choking in a matter of seconds?

call me dreamer but i hope lg makes a laptop/tablet hybrid keeping it under 2.5 lbs, that would absolutely perfect

its just a fantasy of mine, have it running w10, ubuntu and remix os, triple boot setup..

Desktop i7's are not equivalent to laptop i7's which are lower power for generating lower heat as well as longer battery life. Not saying they are bad, but not one for one equivalents.

in some states, it's actually law that there exist a "reasonable expectation of quality"

when i buy something, i too feel there should be reasonable expectation that it will last beyond the warranty...and LG monitors do not
no wonder, i heard the screen quality in these grams are bellow acceptable.. but you can't have everything.

Looks like a cool laptop... I'll wait to hear more.

- wonder how long it will take before someone asks if it has bootloop issues... 😜

**OP - second 13.3 link is for touch screen, and you post it as non touch.

Thanks! Never heard of these!
Thanks, updated.

I personally have this laptop which I bought a few weeks ago (for $100 more, from Fry's - but I was able to get them to credit $100 by showing them the new price reduction).

The reason I bought it was the weight. There was no other laptop that could match this weight which is almost unbelievable. You have to lift it to realize this.

However, I wasn't going to buy it just because of the weight alone. I also wanted excellent battery life, back lit keyboard, and good number of USB A ports. This laptop has all this and more - microSD card slot, USB C port, and full size HDMI. Honestly that's about everything that's extremely useful to have. Can't ask for anything more. I did my research to make sure of that. Check out reviews in Youtube (*links below*), such as by DetroitBorg, MrMobile, MobileTechReview, etc.. to confirm what I am saying.

It boots super fast, in like 3 to 5 seconds, and performs super fast too. I have the core i5. The keyboard is excellent, and nicely sized, although the arrow keys are not which I would have preferred. Large and smooth trackpad. It looks great too, the display is almost bezel less, for a really small form factor. The screen is excellent, responsive, and very bright.

Fry's has had this promo for about two weeks or so. I didn't have time to post this deal until now. But I wanted to share this so that more people are aware of these excellent laptops by LG. I know many people would not have even heard of these laptops. So I wanted to let others know about these laptops so that LG, and other manufacturers, will be encouraged to make such super-light laptops more. The super light weight is just amazing to have for something that is used on a daily basis.

It looks like a limited time promo, likely from LG who have advertised $200 "Back to School" savings on their website ( www.lg.com/us/laptops [lg.com] ), although only Fry's (and MicroCenter on one model only, link above) have $200 off deals. Amazon has these laptops for full price, but they could price match I guess.
The tax discount by Fry's (zero tax!) makes this deal super sweet, saving anywhere from $60 to $100 or more.

Is there a scientific study to support this or is this one of those I read it on an internet forum so it must be true, fake news?

Check out Youtube reviews such as those that I have linked above in my most recent post above.

I am getting excellent battery life - I haven't clocked my usage to the hour but I charge it only every 3rd day, with about 4 to 5 hours of use each day. Browsing and reading and watching videos.

The screen quality on mine is excellent in clarity and response and is very bright. Check out Youtube reviews to get more information from others. I have linked some in a post above.
