Does the camera remain weatherproof while hooked up to this? I'd imagine so, but I'd like confirmation.

Why is this so expensive? I'm sure there are other generic solar chargers out there.

I totally agree. I bought an outdoor motion sensor light that comes with: solar panel, motion sensor, 3 panels of LED lights; the whole package is $40 at Costco.

Solar panel by itself should be $20 at most.

Agree. However, when this was first posted sometime last week I googled a generic solar panel. Found none.

Care to share which one you found that worked with the Arlo Pro? - Never mind, read your post wrong.

I though the same thing as well, a little expensive for what it is. Couple that with some iffy reviews and it being a 1st gen product for them and I decided to wait for cheaper 3rd party version or for them to fix the issues the reviews were complaining about, not to mention lower the price a bit. It becomes pretty expensive if you want to hook one of these up to multiple cameras that you may have.

Did the same thing as it was instock at a local bb for pick up today. Added the 2 yr protection plan for 10.99 since there were some reviews on bb.com that mentioned failures in the first month and considering first gen, likely will need to replace within the 2 yrs to hopefully a better model!

Saved the $10.99 and paid with my Citi Double Cash to add an extended 2yr warranty for FREE.
