Not great. Go with brown for a great balance between gaming performance and typing performance.

I have the brown version and I love it.

Can anyone speak to the customization software on these? I have a TT keyboard and the software is atrocious, makes customizing the RGB a serious chore. I suppose I deserve it for going cheap.

Customizing is why I bought corsair. It's easy.

Cherry MX Speeds Silvers are very similar to Reds. If you love Cherry Reds you will love Speed Silvers.

Corsair makes great keyboards, worth noting they use weird sized keycaps (6.5 spacebar) if you are looking to go the custom keys route.

Let's not get carried away.

You can do a lot and even download rgb profiles and apply them fairly easily, but the actual process of using the software and customizing from scratch is not easy.

The keyboard also has 3 hardware profiles for lighting, but you can do a lot more if you have the corsair software running in the background.

Typing with Speed switches feels weird when you need to press the same key consecutively. But overall I haven't had typing issues. You'll get used to it.

I'm not trying to fan boy corsair. If there is a easier process I would love to know. Because I was debating pretty heavily wether or not to get this keyboard. I don't upgrade every 2-3 years. It took me 8 years from the razer tarantula keyboard to this guy. The razer tarantula was perfect, but I lost input on 3 or 4 keys and that just pissed me off each time I click it and I get no input. I really wanted to go Logitech but this guy was on sale on eBay so I pulled the trigger.

You are not really losing out on much with that purchase. I have the K70 and I love it. I mean I appreciate the size difference but unless you need the macro-keys, you're going to be ok.

Razer is much more user friendly for basic color changing. However, you can customize on a much deeper level with corsair's software. If you spend some time to understand the software, you can use templates provided by the corsair community and build on them. You could also start from scratch. Also Corsair's build quality is much better than Razer. I have had keyboards from both companies and prefer the materials used in Corsair. Also, the customer service I received from Corsair was leaps and bounds better than Razer.

I actually really hate the mx speed for typing. I have the k65 with them, and it's great for gaming especially when it's helpful to be extra twitchy, but I constantly felt like I was hitting so many other keys while typing. I think the way they bottom out really threw me off but it could just be preference. I use a k70 with mx blues for my main computer and typing and browns for my work keyboard. I just love blues above all, so if that's any indication on where I'm coming from and you feel similar, you can use that as a guideline
