can the enclosure be removed? Wonder what kind , m.2 or msata, ssd is inside.

They have full sized Sandisk X300s or MyDigitalSSD SB2 512gb 80mm M.2 SSD inside. Those are $159.99 plus alone these days.

One of the Amazon reviews says the write speed is like a spinning HDD??? Not sure that should be the case with USB 3 unless the reviewer plugged it into USB 2.0

Tweak Town article said read speed is 426MB/s while write is only 63MB/s which is around the speed of a platter drive. It seems like the controller has issues.

Enclosure itself is capable of 475MB/s and 415MB/s read/write, so it's the quality of the SSD that is the limiting factor.

I'll check that out but it's untrue read write are as specified and benchmarks are posted in the images section.

I should have been more clear. I was referring to the benchmarks on the product page. Those are accurate and exactly what you will get out of these. Still have no idea how TT got the results that they got. The drive in the image is the original Super Boot SSD which was slower but not that slow.
