I really like this monitor, and it is a good price, but given the availability and price decreases of higher res 27" displays I'd probably recommend going that route. I use these for work and they are great though

Landscape is the default mode... If you mean does it does portrait, yes it does. I have 4 Dell Ultrasharp 24xx series on my desk from different years and they are all still working great. Until they get a 48in cheap, I'm happy with a 4 screens tile.

I'm not in the market yet to expend to 6 tiles, but who knows, as usual with Slickdeal I may buy things I don't need now Mad

Why is a 5 year old 1200p monitor for $150 a good deal?

How familiar are you with Dell's UltraSharp monitors, and IPS monitors in general? But if you mean "'apart from the fact that it's an excellent monitor that would normally cost quite a bit] more", no reason I can think of...LMAO It's not one of the "best" IPS monitors on the market, but even at its usual street price it's very good for the price and at $150, it's a a bargain.

Have two U2415s already. Would this stand out noticeably as a third, or is it pretty much teh same? Running DisplayPort, not HDMI.

If you're okay with used, the U2412s (either U2412M or U2412Mb) can be found on eBay or Craigslist typically for $100 (or less). I've gotten a few for $65 - $100 each, and one for $45.

With that said, $150 for a new one is an excellent price.

The first time I had one of these it blew away my previous Samsung 1080p TN monitor and even my LG IPS panel side by side.
