I bought one at the end of June, hooked it up at the end of July, and the TV died on my 3 weeks later. it is back at Sceptre for 4 weeks to get repaired.

How about Vizio vizio e70-e3 for $778.17. Is that better TV then this and good deal?

If it is refurbished, don't buy it. I bought one for the office, and there were electronics literally sticking out between the bezel and the screen- it died within a week, exchanged. #2 flickered constantly, exchanged. #3 arrived with a shattered screen, returned. In short, "refurbished" means "physically resembles a TV." Bought a clearance Samsung 70" for $999 instead: rock solid, absolutely love it.

I am getting brand new. Is the TV good if it is new? Especially picture quality for up scaling.

Exactly. I'm sick of "I'd buy for 50% of current deal price" crap posts. Nobody wants to know what ridiculous price you would buy it for.
