For anyone trying to unlock this phone: The T-Mobile unlock app will *NOT* work. You need to contact T-Mobile and they will fix it for you within 3 days. Not sure if this will work if you are not a T-Mobile customer, but if you are, then you should be able to get this unlocked pretty easily. I just did it.

In June 2017 this seller sold this phone for $176 (after eBay coupon). Was advertised as "open box", but many buyers received sealed/unopened phones. This is the same eBay listing as current deal, but at a higher price ($220>$260).

$7 Samsung slow/standard wireless charging pad on eBay (not fast charge). Pad only. USB cable and wall adapter/charger NOT included. Seller claims: legit, brand new, retail packaging, ships from TX.

Depends on your needs.

Do you want a stylus and AMOLED screen? Easy choice, note 5.

Do you want replaceable battery, IR blaster, High Quality DAC, 3 high quality microphones, wide angle camera and a second screen? V20.

I have owned both and I prefer the V20 due to the reasons above. Note 5 will be cheaper than the V20 (for new models).

Also, to be honest, I am a bit biased against Samsung because of their horrible customer service but I did at least give some reasons as to why you should consider a note 5.

If the phone was truly brand new AND sealed, then it sounds like the seller took care of you.

There is no possible way he can know if a phone has a problem if it is sealed in the box. I'd say if you got a refund 3 days after the seller received the item back, I'd be more likely to buy from them again(granted they had a good deal).

Google photos automatically backup your photos and video......
Losing a phone shouldn't mean losing data in this day and age.

Can it be combined with unidays coupon? In other words, can I use two coupons?

What is the trade-in value for this Note 5? Especially for Samsung.com or could be useful to save $100 when iPhone 8 or 7s/7s+ comes out to trade this Note 5 in. Unsure if this will be a $300 trade-in value.

"This device is LOCKED to the T-Mobile network and cannot be unlocked to any other network.

Possible to unlock via 3rd parties? Any other DIY methods?

Thanks and repped. Got one for my 67 year old mom. I had a great experience with my old Galaxy S6, which the Note 5 share internals with.
