Kind of a meh deal, basically 300 dollars for a drill/driver combo. The bare tools are all around the 100 dollar mark so you're essentially paying for the batteries in this bundle.

Should I stick to ridgid if I'm just buying tools for personal use? I know they have lifetime battery warranty. Does any other brand have the same guarantee?

a)personal preference depending on your skillset and type of usage
b) it's not really LSA and I think only hitachi is similar in that respect.

36v bare tools don't appear to qualify.

edit:

I'd rather have this deal.

I was actually pretty stoked to get the XPH11 subcompact hammer drill which was just released... Probably gonna sell my PH05 and get out of the CXT ecosystem. Awesome little drill, but I can actually outpace the charge cycle on a hard day, even with 3 batteries.

Also I grabbed the XSS02 circ saw. I'm still rocking the original LXT BSS611 circ saw, but mine doesn't cut perfect 45's anymore.

So this does not work for any bare tool, correct?

I'm glad they're extending their Sub Compact line. It's pretty great power to size ratio. I have relatively smaller hands and they fit perfectly. I use the drill and impact drivers at work, and they are more than enough power.

I'd recommend the sub-compact line to anyone. Very satisfied with them. The black looks pretty cool too. I hope they come out with more items.

On Toolbarn, after you add the Starter Pack, there's a little link on top of the page that brings up the available bare tools. It's not all bare tools, it's only like 8 items or something.

That deal is 4Ah batteries, this deal if 5Ah, this deal has a dual battery charger. and there are more tools to choose from instead of having just a drill and impact driver.

How so? The batteries themselves would be about $220 for 2 of them. You are getting $450 of product for $300 when you include the charger and tools. I would say that is pretty slick for one of the most reputable tool brands you can buy.

For sub compact tools, I think these 5ah batteries are too heavy .

Because with these bundle deals you should be striving for getting the batteries at the very least for the cost of the tools alone, or at least that's what I strive for. I picked up this bundle about a month back from acme tools https://www.toolbarn.com/makita-xru09ptx1.html/ and I got it for 330.00 back then. That bundle essentially gets this very same battery charger and batteries for the cost of those two bare tools. In the one in this thread the tools included are not the upper tier ones. They're around 100 dollars normal price, for instance the circular saw is the brushed version which retails for around 110. If it was the Brushless one it'd be closer to 200 and then the deal would be a lot better but you're getting basically 220ish worth of tools and then shelling out 80 or so for the batteries and charger. If that's the measuring stick you use to qualify a deal as good then that's your call but to me it's not all that slick.
