One of the highest rated palm routers on the market, from what I've seen. This is only $0.29 more than the lowest price ever according to the Camels, and about $30 cheaper than usual. I've been waiting a few months for it to drop below $200.

By comparison, it's $222.50 at Home Depot [homedepot.com], and $234.99 at CPO [cpooutlets.com].

Comes with 3 bases, edge guide, dust port attachments, and a case.

Bought one. I was waiting on the annual Maikita deal that has come up around Christmas time the last few years but decided to pull the trigger on this deal. This has more bases than I initially wanted and added dust collectors but I think they will be handy to have when I need them.

Stops at 3 bases. No home base. You ain't going to get laid buying this thing.
Some people prefer third base. Especially ones focused on work or just not that into it. You can keep your clothes on and just didn't say open not really get that much of a sweat built up. Nothing wrong with with a triple. I'm sure the sabermetrics of today favor that over a homerun

Upgrading from a fixed Ryobi.. mainly excited about the dust collection covers, shavings are ridiculous!

Edit: so HD sells same base router for $140 ref price, which includes the plunge base. This deal gets you additional two bases, the dust collection cover and edge guide, still could be a tough price point at $189 for most

I'd like to see a Dewalt Flexvolt model, but looks like Makita beat em to it.

I'm looking for a router for my router table. Has anyone used this router for a table setup?
This is a compact router. If you want one for a router table, you want to be on the other end of the spectrum, and buy a big monster, heavy duty router.

Good to know! I usually prefer corded though, except for tools that absolutely need to be cordless (like the drill I use everywhere). I want my tools to still work in 15 years, and I can see being very frustrated when the batteries have stopped working and replacement batteries can't be bought anymore, and the tools become paperweights.

I feel like the move toward cordless everything is just planned obsolescence by the tool makers. Convenient? Yes. But also inching toward disposable power tools, which provides a nice recurring revenue source for the companies.

That said, I could see a palm router specifically being very useful as a cordless tool, right up there with a jigsaw. Though I don't think I use either one of them often enough to warrant going cordless myself.
