First post, please be gentle.

Two years of Private Internet Access VPN, originally $166, on sale for $47 with coupon code 9TO5VPN.

Great deal with a great, trustworthy VPN, but make sure to research it to ensure it meets your needs. I suggest this site for comparing: https://thatoneprivacysite.net/vp...son-chart/

PIA service has dropped quite significantly in the past few years.

Way better VPN's out there.

What other VPN service do you recommend at around this price point?

Got this as an existing customer. It does create a new account though so you can't tack on 2 years to your subscription.

Here is a link [9to5mac.com] to a description of the deal and to where you actually place the order and use the promo code.

Thanks, my subscription expires at the end of this month.

Note

You have 30 days to active it once you buy it.

IMO Torguard is MUCH faster than PIA. Also dirt cheap.

I currently have a 30 day account with PIA. Do I just login and redeem this offer somewhere or create a new account?

Edit: figured it out with the instructions after purchase. Thank you.

Got a deal similar to this a few months back. PIA cuts my download speeds by 75% no matter what I've tried. Works fine on my phone for browsing, but if you are thinking of using them for Usenet/Torrenting, I'd look elsewhere.

A deal on slickdeals came to be around $29.99/year. Might have to wait for a deal, unfortunately Frown

I would say Torguard is your best bet. I have been using it for the last 2 years and i got it for $29.99 /year through a Slickdeals post. I have seen that price twice on slickdelas in the last 10 months.

You definitely want a respectable VPN provider. Do your research. Free is probably not the best in this category.
I used PIA for 2 years and was mostly happy with their service. My speeds usually maxed at about 1Mbps which was pretty slow. What is odd, when I only had 1 month left with them, my speeds went up to about 11Mbps. No idea if this was intentional to try to keep me as a customer or purely coincidental...
I did not re-up with them and am currently trying to chose between BlackVPN, BolehVPN or NordVPN.

The whole point of a VPN is to be as anonymous as possible. Giving your information away to a third party for a cheaper price doesn't seem too anonymous to me...

Using pfSense, I route all of my traffic through PIA. It fully saturates my 40 meg connection encrypted at RSA 4096. Usenet and torrenting work wonderfully.

This is a great deal. Not sure why it says the original price is $166 though.

How do you get 2 year here? Where do you want the promo code? I only see 1 year option
