Do you think extra $30 worth for free mount and two 3D glasses?

I believe the Epson one comes with the 2 3D glasses as well. Atleast the one i had ordered a few months back did have them. It could be equal if you need the mount, $30 for a universal mount is not a bad price.

Okay that make sense, thanks. In case if don't need the mount then we can directly get it from Epson.

FYI "Epson does not accept returns on refurbished items except if product arrives defective" if that matters to anyone.

I just bought and returned a refurb Epson 2045 on Amazon. It was one of these 3 LCD models, and the picture focus was inconsistent across the image. One corner was quite blurry no matter what adjustments were made. Wasn't my setup either as I was replacing an older projector that was fine.

My understanding is that it's not an uncommon issue with the 3 LCD models if something is slightly out of whack.

Point is - I would clarify what 'defective' means. The one I had worked, but was far from ideal. I'd be pissed if I hadn't been able to return it.

I've had this projector for about 5 years. Use it almost every night. Never had to replace the bulb. The iris movement is quite loud but I just turn up the sound. Overall Ive been very happy with this. I do recommend cleaning the filter regularly. It has a great picture. This is a great price but I would be slightly concerned about refurb based on "defective" remarks above.

All Epson items new/refurbs carry a 2 year warranty. WHy not call Epson and have them replace it for you?

Just crossed 2 years Mark and 2 months, called Epson rep and got reply as they will honor only for 2 years & 1 month max, my filter is nice, no dirt, I haven't used it much too. Service centre guy told me repairs and shipping are quite costly for home Cinema series. apart from this, yes projector is very nice and has very good contrast than my buddy's Panasonic version

But you said you got the projector a year ago. So why couldn't you get warranty ?

My bad on the date, it just crossed 2 years and 2 months. whatever happens to me, may not happen to every one, but please do the math before you buy the Epson home series, which I missed. I also understand about the wear and tear, but in my case I haven't utilized and still the loss, paid 1999$ + 1 extra rebate bulb.. now 800$.. not sure I will pull the trigger or not.. any recommendation?

I too have been using this projector for the last 5 years. It's as good as the day I bought it. No issues at all.
