Is this better than the Costco one which goes on sale annually for almost the same price?

I've had the Costco set before. It's pots are good but the pans kept warping a bit on me on my ceramic stovestop.

That being said I bought my girlfriend the Cuisinart french classic tri-ply pan and that warped a bit too on first use. Don't run into those issues with my all clad and tramontina ones though.

This is a great set, though you'll probably wish you got the bigger 12 piece set.

luke warm just because the 12 piece sets have popped up around $10 more lately. That said, I will say I got the deal with the 12 piece and the 3 piece bakeware set from Macys a couple months ago, and it's a great cookware set to have. I love mine. Nice and heavy, easy to clean and use, so if you need a set NOW I would still probably jump on this, but if you can wait, wait for the 12 piece set to pop back up.

That Macy's deal for $145 for the 12 piece and 3 bakeware items was a fantastic deal, but from what I can see, that was a one time thing. When the 12 piece set goes on sale, it's usually around the $170 mark. Waiting for the 12 piece to come down to $145 again may be a lengthy wait.
