Link (for the OP):

http://www.microcenter.com/single...sku=069849

I have a few of these in service and they haven't given me any issues. They aren't the fastest SSDs in the world according to benchmarks that people post, but they seem plenty fast to me in practice (and way faster than a mechanical HD).

As with any other consumer electronics device, others have posted they've had failure issues on these drives, though that has not been my experience.

Are you using this drive for only OS

These Sandisk Pluses are bottom of the barrel low performance SSDs (only slightly better than the very bottom Sandisks). For $70 it's not exactly cheap or a good price either. I got these Sandisk Plus models for around $55-$60 last year.

Price trends will continue higher on ssds, ram, vram, etc through 2018 as shortages continue. This is not a bad price given the current trends.

These drives are pretty quick, but have terrible failure rate.I bought two of these to put as primary OS drives on my two computers. I left the OS image on my secondary 1 TB drive. The first San Disk Plus died on my primary computer two months ago. I got a warning on the second one about a week ago and got blue screened yesterday. The good thing is I just bring the secondary drive back online, update the OS, and start shopping for a new SSD.

Through benchmarks or real life experience? I have never been impressed with I/O from newer SSDs. I never bought one and realized it was much better. My old one boots just as fast as my newer SSD. M.2 is cool, but in reality the speeds are not faster unless you're using it for VMs, and honestly buying more ram and making a RAM disk would be even faster than any SSD. I don't see a point to getting such a drive yet.
