I would grab a monitor with freesync since the Xbox One X will support it, but it's definitely not necessary. I think finding a 4K IPS monitor cheaper than this the rest of the year is unlikely, so definitely solid for the new Xbox. This was a better deal, and I'm hoping something like it comes back:

But isn't that freesync 2.0, not current gen.

Any idea on how the display looks? This worth getting involved in for development and other work purposes?

Xbonex only has Freesync over HDMI 2.1 (introduces variable refresh rate), and nothing has it yet. All current Freesync monitors only support it through Displayport.

I don't believe that is true, but Freesync over HDMI definitely doesn't work on all freesync 1.0 monitors:

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/...31332.html

I have read that it will support both freesync and freesync 2.0, but will need to do some googling to prove that. I agree that a 4K IPS freesync 2.0 monitor would be the best for Xbox One X, but I'm not sure what the prices will be like on those by November.

I stand corrected then. Also the Xbonex only has HDMI 2.0b. However, the monitor you linked doesn't support Freesync over HDMI. Check the monitors section here for full list of Freesync with HDMI as well as normal Freesync monitors.

Good catch, thanks for the link! The updated version of the nicer model: LG 27UD69, Acer H277HK , and HP Envy 27 are 4K IPS monitors that support freesync over hdmi at 40-60hz, so those are the ones to target if you want this feature for xbox. Hopefully freesync 2.0 monitors are more widespread and affordable in the coming months, because I bet there will be a lot of XboxOneX games that won't be in that 40-60fps range.
