Horrible reviews. Apparently has holes in the material as standard processing.

The problem is people think this is suppose to block out sound from the outside.... It isn't for that lol The best way to explain it is to go into an empty room or a room with nothing on the floor and walls. Clap your hands together slowly.... You will hear a sort of echo in the room. If you put this around the walls they absorb those echos. I personally use something like this in my room for recording voice overs and you can easily see these used all over YouTube for vlogs that are in doors or you will notice people sitting in heavily filled up rooms to do the same thing. When you have a great microphone you can easily hear those echos which can be a negative to some people. These are also be used with any sound systems so you get clearer sounds from the speakers that aren't bouncing all over the room. I'm sure these work very well but people just don't know exactly what they are suppose to do and proceed to buy them thinking they are one thing but they aren't.

Also anyone that plans on getting this sort of thing for home theater and not for voice overs it is best to get 2 inch ones which aren't on sale. They go great behind a heavy curtain in home theater rooms.

LegendAssassin,
I take it that these are for sound absorption treatment. What do you recommend for sound proofing treatment (to prevent sound from coming in/out of the room)?

Nothing simple. Insulation between walls helps, but dual layers of drywall with "Green Glue" sandwiched between to isolate the layers would be better.

Anything short of installing new drywalls?
