No chance? The rift is barely catching up due to their summer sale and price drop

Sadly both are floundering due to the cost of entry. I was really hoping that Vive would do a 399 sale to match Rift cause 599 is still too much for either of them.

And before any comments, 1) I owned both and preferred the Vive fit wise I have a larger head and the straps fit and felt better than the Rifts hard plastic head strap thing. 2) I use both at work and outside of CAD work and some small experiences it really seems like a chicken/egg product.

Rift is more like $460 (on sale) when you factor in the cost of the 3rd sensor

I have the rift and love it. I haven't tried Vive, but I bet I would love that too.

On the fence about purchasing one. I got the Rift a week ago with 3rd sensor and I love it, Robo Recall is amazing. Just dunno if another $240 (after the upgraded head/audio strap) is worth it to get the Vive over the Rift.

Rift is mid tier vr, you cannot compare vive and rift. Vive is the premium vr experience, it should cost more, it's night and day difference between the two.

If you have a Microsoft store near you they do demos with both. Oddly my PSVR is the most comfortable and the HP mixed reality too

Aren't Rift and Vive pretty much the same resolution? What makes them night and day difference?

What's the difference between a vizio and a Samsung 4k tv. It's the same as that example, Higher quality products: len's, headset, positioning sensors, controllers, response time off all components. It's just a higher quality unit. And it will be nice when the wireless headset component is included in the bundle.

and the R&D team is great for vive. cannot wait for fallout and skyrim to release this fall.

I'm not getting your night and day comparison either, although I have not tried a Vive. The Rift's touch controllers are great and raved about in reviews, and just about all say that it's also more comfortable than the Vive, some even after the hassle of changing the head strap.

Which has been the case with VR for 20 years. Which is why I warned people not to buy into the hype. I've seen it all before. Yet some of you kids didn't believe me.

VR is the future. The future is not here yet. VR really hasn't changed much in 20 years. It didn't work then. It's not working now. Until you can put on googles with the ease of a pair of glasses with A LOT more resolution then we have today, it will be nothing more than a novelty people will get over in minutes due to the headache.
