Careful with buying underpriced citizen watches. My experience is they end up being refurbished/used. I can't speak for this particular site. If you do get one make sure you do some homework first and have it looked at by a jeweler.

Solar powered watches are so dumb if you work indoors (like 90% of us do).
Never had the problem...
Just hang it inside your car (parked outdoor), at the rear view mirror stem & let it keeps charging (while you are inside the office).

it does take charge from daylight or incandescent light sources ! Wink light wavelength are similar Smilie but are not as intense as sun ! so - it will take much longer to achieve same charge rate as outdoors ! laugh out loud carry on ! Rock

Exactly my point... pain in the ass like all the smart watches that need to be charged everynight.

Just wearing it charges it since you wear it during day and in office settings. It's not like you plan to throw it in a closet w/o any light for several weeks. The battery doesn't die like a smartwatch does cause amount of power to run this watch is miniscule, if you compared the two.

Eco drive watches have a capacitor instead of a battery. Like stated in previous comments, the panels under the face can collect energy from almost any light source( fluorescent lights, incandescent lights, led lights, etc...). The only problem is there is no real way to tell how long the capacitor will last. Sometimes 5 years. Sometimes 10 or 15 years if you are lucky. And sometimes they crap out after a year or two. Most have a decent sized capacitor and the charge will last 10-14 days. I got a citizen watch for Father's Day this year. It has a power reserve gauge on the face that will show how much charge is left. Love it and don't really have to worry about it dying since it has a 10 month reserve.

I've had an eco-drive for 9 years, wearing it every day and have never had a problem with it whatsoever. I think they said to charge it by giving it direct sunlight for six hours or so the first time before wearing it, then it'll basically be charged for regular use by being topped of by any sort of indoor light (or sunlight of course).

I have two budget citizen eco drive watches at4010-50e and BM8180-03E both have been solid in terms of holding charge and keeping accurate time. I kept the AT4010-50e in complete darkness for almost 2 months and there was still power left when I took it out. Not only that, the time is exactly the same as the time shown on my phone. I have had the BM8180-03E for about 5 years and yes it doesn't hold a charge as long as the other but still ticking along after being left two weeks in my watch case. There was one time I left the BM8180-03E in the pocket on the driver seat in my car for months (I though I lost the watch during a move) through the Texas summer and the watch stopped working. But as soon as I let it get some sunlight, the hands started moving again and it still keeping accurate time.
