Not sure how you could have not heard of this until now, since there are iwp deals like twice a week. I'll give you my opinion as someone who has a pack of impact isolate and has tried many other brands of protein. I'm not completely lactose intolerant, but if I drink too much of certain types of protein I get bloating and stomach discomfort. It doesn't happen for the big brands like ON gold standard, but Impact Whey Protein does affect me. The isolate version doesn't seem to affect me much though, unfortunately that one isn't on sale much. The taste is alright. I really liked the taste of cinnamon roll, but it was a strong flavor that you might get sick of after a while. Chocolate mint is solid. Vanilla is alright, but it has a weird minty aftertaste that I don't really like.
Myprotein seems to be one of the most shilled supplement products. Don't go blindly believing labdoor. They knocked down other proteins for "watchlist ingredients" when most flavors of myprotein have the same ingredients. I'm also pretty sure they have some sort of deal with this site. All the deals are posted by admins and other protein threads have admins asking why anyone would buy that deal over myprotein. The staff also wrote an article rating different flavors. All this leads me to have serious doubts about the product. I'm sure its a good product, just not the absolute number one best product people would have you believe. At the end of the day, the sales make the best deals and thats what matters to a lot of people.

Also they use some stupid shipping company I've never heard of that lift my package at the distribution center 10 minutes away from my house for 4 days. Also the pouch is really bad and hard to close.

These standards.

Protein per weight: MyProtein: 76.9g protein / 100g. ON: 74.1g protein / 100g. If we're talking about a serving, that is a difference of less than one gram.
Protein per calorie: MyProtein 86% calories from protein. ON: 76% calories from protein. This difference would be smaller if they compared a flavored variety of MyProtein (cocoa powder takes up space and calories).
Label Accuracy: Labdoor rates ON as more accurate. (73 vs 63)
Product Purity: Labdoor gives them a tie.
Nutritional Value: Labdoor gives ON the slight edge (80 vs 77)
Ingredient Safety: Labdoor gives MyProtein a large margin (98 vs 58). The only reason that MyProtein wins this is because (as I mentioned in my previous post) the Unflavored version does not use Ace K, whereas the flavor of ON tested does use Ace K. Many of the MyProtein flavors do also Ace K. As I previously stated, up to you whether this bothers you.
Product Efficacy: Labdoor gives MyProtein the slight edge (77 vs 74).

I have literally no desire to market ON. I was just using it as an example of another brand so that rg8686 would have a point of reference to use as comparison.

In fact I switched to from ON to MyProtein and have not looked back. Given the price difference, I see absolutely no reason to use ON.

However, if rg8686 isn't comfortable buying MyProtein due to the concerns raised in their post, or if someone perhaps didn't enjoy the MyProtein flavors, ON is perfectly fine. Again, I am not trying to market ON, especially given that I very much prefer MyProtein.

I've checked supplement testing sites and this is some of the cleanest whey available. I'm going with plain because it doesn't have a questionable additive that is used to replace the sugar that makes the flavors sweet. I'm half tempted to buy this three times because it is such a good deal.

I hadn't heard of this whey before this deal. It's hard to sift through reviews because so many people have referral codes...difficult to separate actual feedback from the desire to get referrals.

Is this actually a good deal or is everyone just pushing codes?

I love myprotein, but yeah.. Their shipping is terrible.

One thing that helped me get some of the zippers closed is that when I first get a bag (or have trouble closing the zipper) I'll go along both sides of the zipper and flick the outside of the bag to dislodge the protein powder that gets stuck in there. Sometimes it's still hard to close, but it's 10x easier.

Yeah, when just looking at slickdeals and their website, it's definitely easy to come to that conclusion.

If you look around at somewhere like reddit, perhaps, you'll get a lot more info from average gym-goers. There's even a thread where they just discuss which flavors everyone likes (with a table aggregating results somewhere in there):
https://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/...myprotein/

My take on MyProtein Impact Whey:
Overall the protein is good quality.
  • Relatively high percentage of protein per gram 20g protein / 25g scoop.
  • Relatively high percentage of protein per calorie 20g protein / 100 calories.
  • Flavors are good -- there should be something for everyone -- some people will have really strong feelings about their favorite brand's flavors -- I don't care if it's not as tasty as protein that is 1.5x - 2x the price as long as I still enjoy it.
  • About as good of a price per amount of protein as you can find.

If you use a site at labdoor, actually look at the detailed results.
  • The testing for heavy metals and protein content is fairly straightforward.
  • For label accuracy, sometimes there's a little more of certain ingredients (fat, protein, carbs, sodium, etc) sometimes there's less. Using MyProtein Impact Whey as an example, they were dinged for having 54.25mg of Cholesterol instead of the 20.5 on the label and for having 66mg of Calcium rather than 150mg. I personally don't care about either of those being off by that amount. You may feel differently. (and I believe they updated / are updating the Cholesterol on the label to 55mg as they go through their current stock)
  • On ingredient safety, they flag a lot of artificial sweeteners that I don't really have a problem with. Many flavors of myprotein use one of these (Acesulfame K), but the flavor they tested does not -- hence the high rating. You'll have to decide for yourself how you feel about it.

If you want an alternative brand, Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard has similar results on labdoor, similar protein per calorie, and I think most prefer the flavor of ON to MyProtein. You can also find deals posted here frequently, but it's still considerably more expensive than MyProtein.
And there are certainly plenty more brands of quality whey out there.

This is why we do not allow referrals. Please mod alert anyone who posts one. Those that did post have been warned accordingly.

You are absolutely full of it. All of this intro about MyProtein is just to come in and market ON. It is no where close to MyProtein. Whether in protein per weight or protein per calories. Even according to Labdoor, ON quality rating come at #36 and value rating come at #19. Not sure by what standards you consider this firckin comparable.
