Philips Hue Starter White and Color Starter Kit, 3rd Gen $100 @ Home Depot B&M YMMV

Dont really post deals too often, they seem to be found pretty quickly by others. Was in Home Depot today and they had the 3rd gen Philips Hue White and Color starter kit on clearance for $100.

Quick scan of pervious deals seems to put it in the $140 range, so I thought this was pretty good deal. As with clearance, YMMV. Still 159.99 online.

FYI: After a loss of power (outage or switch/breaker flipped), Hue lights default to full brightness, soft white color. Philips has decided against changing this, despite being an issue for many people.

there is a stupid thing that Hue doesn't do which I feel is a just a joke for $200 product
Hue bulbs have warm white as default color which I can't stand, you can easily changed it to whatever color you want via the app and save(for me daylight color), if I turn off the light from the wall switch and turn it back on, guess what happened, it's back to warm white. you can't pick a color and save it as default color. this issue was reported 3 years ago and Philips decided against fixing it for safety issues!!!

Wrong. This is simply not an issue for the informed. This is done for completely sensible reasons and is just a pointless complaint from someone who does not understand smart lighting. You should not be turning off the light switch at all in regular use. Period. When you do, you cut off power to the internals which then make the bulb no longer smart. No power equals no control at all. Can't turn it on or change color or anything. You keep them always powered and they should stay that way. Period.
The intention of the light going to a certain setting including full brightness when initially powered on is in case of an emergency such as a fire where you might need to light your way immediately. You can then turn off the light switch and turn it back on and you have the light at 100% with a sensible hue and white light. They don't want you to be caught in a situation needing immediate and guaranteed lighting only to flip off the power and back on and only getting some low level colored light setting you had changed the default to or have you fumbling to try and find your phone. You'd really be kicking yourself if you burn alive with your house because you set the default to some blue mood lighting and can't see when you need to. They decided, correctly I might add, that you not dying in an emergency supersedes the inconvenience of not having a default when you shouldn't ever be switching off the light anyways eliminating any need for a default as it is. So, no, not an issue in the slightest. -Fiestaman

Was that the only starter kit in clearance at Tatum store? I live in Phoenix as well and will head there immediately if there are more.

Yes, that was the last one. I have not looked anywhere else yet.

Good if you are getting your feet into the smart home stuff, or spend time reselling the hub I guess......
3 color bulbs can be had for $90 regular price.
Three third gen? That seems like a very tough price to achieve, especially when you say that's the regular price.

Thanks. Saw them last week at $150. Price was indeed $100! Grabbed the remainder on the shelf.

Does anyone know if they will ring up for $100 even if marked $150? Is the pricing national? Thanks for any info.

It's possible the shelf tag may not have been updated yet so they could scan lower. The yellow tags are the clearance tags. $150 was the clearance price last week.
