Isn't this stuff discontinued? If so, would that effect product support?

Hoping that this goes down in price even lower. $70 is still too expensive. I was able to get the light switch for about $22 a piece from Belkins previously.

lol, wemo product support. that's grand.

i have 4 switches, and 2 outlets. id say about 10% of the time, i go on the app, and the switches cannot be found. if i could start over again and go with a different brand/system, i would, in a heartbeat.

Why not just use IFTT or Google Voice? I have five light switches and can't even remember the last time I used the Wemo app (partly because the last time I used it, it wasn't very good). Mine have been great programming with IFFT and turning on and off w/ Google Voice. I believe they work with Alexa as well, but don't have her so can't say for sure.

they work great with alexa too. i have 8 switches and 4 lamp modules work with no issues. the app does wemo does suck in the past i had to switch from wifi to data to get it to show devices but now i just use alexa.

Bought $400 worth of these switches and dimmers from BB yesterday. Installed and configured all but one switch. They work well with Alexa/Echo but the Nest integration leaves a bit to be desired. I haven't had enough time to fully research it, but for several reasons it seems that the Auto Away function on Nest isn't a reliable way to turn off Wemo devices. I wasn't able to get it working this morning anyways.

The installation on a few of these was quite the PITA. Most went fairly well, but if you are embarking on doing a lot of these, good tip is to know how your neutral wires should be connected, whether you are working on a single circuit or 2 pole. If you are working on single circuit, make sure you tie the Wemo's neutral wire into the same wire nut that has the rest of the neutral wires, as they all need to be connected. Also, jamming two of these into the same gang box can require some time getting the wires organized and creating some space in the box. Two Wemos in a two-gang box wasn't too bad (as long as you don't have a shallow box), but I rewired one room that had three-way switches and swapped out a GFCI outlet for one of the three way switches and added a Wemo in the same box, and that was pretty tough to get that all squeezed in there.

Overall pretty pleased, but thinking Black Friday will bring some better deals on these and the TP-Link switches.

If you are set on dimmers Samsung Smartthings is on sale just about everywhere. And the GE switches can be found for about $30. Will pay for itself in the long run.

Just a heads up if anyone has access to a .edu (student) email when buying from the Belkin website. You get an extra 30% off the order and you can get these 30% offs 1 per
day. httpwww.belkin.com/us/studentdiscount/

Edit: 1 per week

No - WeMo's aren't discontinued boy.

Yes for a smart Wifi dimmer - $70 is too much. & they don't make it as a multi-location switch either!

I love WeMo switches but they are way behind on this vs. comps.
Because when searching for Belkin branded wemo products on Amazon, a lot of them says discontinued by manufacturer so I am just double checking here on other people's thoughts

Why control outlets? Lamps and other similar devices. Obviously no use for vacuums, refrigerators, etc.
