A made up marketing term, it means absoultly nothing at all. It also comes with XHDR, which also means absolutely nothing at all.

This TV is a FALD LED-lit LCD.

Isn't this the same one that was $1400 at Sam's Club a while back? I almost pulled the trigger then but is the gift card worth anything?

It looks like no tablet is included in the 2017 model. Does this mean it has apps built into the tv and is controlled with the remote, or do we still need to cast Netflix, Hulu, etc. from a phone or tablet?

An update rolled out that allows apps on the TV itself. Still can cast from your phone or other device though.

mostly marketing magic, seems to work though. Good luck asking Dell for RMA on a 70" because of the misleading refresh rate. . shake head

Yes, the 2017 M-series moved to 60Hz panels at all size ranges, but added enhancements in other areas to bump overall PQ. Per the Rtings review (link in OP), under the Motion section, it states "This TV has a 60Hz panel"; and on VIZIO's web site (link under 'Specs' in the OP) it states "120Hz Effective".

And can we control the apps on the TV with the original remote provided?
