RTINGS.COM, TCL = 7.6, Visio = 7.6, mixed usage score. Not a lot to separate them, although TCL has 72 zone FALD compared to 32 for Visio and comes with a built in tuner unlike the Visio.

This set is the best bang for the buck.
The picture is outstanding at this price point.
The -E0 version has higher wattage audio than the -E1 version you find at BestBuy or Dell though the sound like most flat screens is lacking.
The reason why this set has some poor reviews it that it was a bit confusing for the market...
Though this has recently changed, it WAS just a monitor, with no built in tuner, and no built in smart apps for streaming. It had only direct line inputs and the ability for things to be cast to it from a phone or table. Vizio had an app (Apple iOS and google android) that turned it into a smart tv allowing you to stream from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime, etc and casting it yo the tv...
Last month Vizio changed that by pushing out a free automatic update making this into a full fledged smart tv (and not just what they had called a smart monitor).
They even will send you a free upgraded remote control upon request that allows you to use it as a full fledged smart tv.
I liked the set before it was fully smart tv enabled but now it is even better. Though it does not have every app available, at least not as far as I know (would love to add TBS or Plex for example) but it has Netflix, Amazon Prime, Vudu, crackle, and others. And you can also cast from a tablet or pc.
Hope this helps people understand what this tv offers and the information out there is mostly included rectify due to the recent software update.

I found the 2016 version of this TV (2016 is D0 model, the 2017 is slightly upgraded with TV tuner and called E0 model) at Ebay. Vizio factory Refurbished, for $479, 90 day factory warranty with free shipping and no tax! The Costco deal is good, but in California with tax it means almost $300 more including tax, for me to get the upgraded version. Here's the Ebay link if interested in 2016 model.

I believe CNET also said TCL P series was a game changer in budget TVs

TCL P received an 8.6 https://www.cnet.com/products/tcl-55p607/review/

vs Vizio M getting an 8.5 https://www.cnet.com/products/viz...d0/review/

no freaking clue. It's been a shocker that they took it off their site at middle of October after they sold out, and then never restocked it, leaving a big gap in the 55 inch displays. I want the M series for my next TV, but all they have is the 65 inch, which is a BIG step up in price
