Manny Mann Huy Fong foods is headquartered in Irwindale, CA with a small business starting out in El Monte.

The owner is a viet immigrant and you must have seen his all American success story on tv.. anyway there has been multiple business growth issues with their factory and complaints but they have been able to continue at their plant in irwindale and they give free tours. Seems the owner is still quite humbled despite the sriracha fame.

Have to say Asian American success is quite the lesser of all evils lol when it comes to greed etc... and not sticking it to their customers hard in the ass once they become big like some other corporate messes.

I don't know what everyone who's complaining about the price is smoking - though presumably it makes them either blind or illiterate - because this is an 18 ounce jar, which is more than twice the size of the 8 ounce jars people are talking about being able to buy locally for ≤ $2...

ETA: And fwiw, here in NYC, anyway, the 8 ounce jars are usually < $1.50 in "Chinatown" area stores, so even $1.99 sounds like quite the ripoff to me.laugh out loud I'm not sure $2.38 / 18 ozs is exactly "Front Page" worthy (but these days, what isn't?), but it's certainly a good deal if you go through a lot of the stuff or only have access to it at mainstream "American" markets, where the mark-up is usually outrageous... That being said, it doesn't last forever even in the fridge (it stays "spicy", but loses flavor over the course of a couple of months after being opened), so unless you do use it a lot, you're really better off buying the smaller jars...

Looks like any posting can be FP in SD these days. I buy a lot of these from local market around the same price all the time. SAD! 😉

Around me, just about $2. However, since you asked this, probably means you don't go to an asian store very often so saving 40 cents on one item isn't worth the trip. 😅
