Do both GCs have to be the same denomination? If not, I'd conservatively guess the discount applies to the lower valued card. If someone has tried different valued cards please let us know how the discount applies. Thanks.

Is it possible with Android and Play Store cards to be anonymous - since you can likely just load funds and use that instead of billing/billing address etc?

You still have to have your minimum Google account information (basically your email address). But yes, this would avoid putting credit card information.

Umm why? Technically if you paid cash at Target yes?
Kind of worried that a new member with no rep points
is asking about some black hat stuff at worst, grey hat at best... however if you're having to ask a basic, beginners level question about anonymity that's a bad sign.
Anything you bought with that Google account, apps and stuff, would be collecting data and location on you on mobile.
I guess you could block a lot of that or do mock GPS locations but that breaks most apps or doesn't work at all especially with Android 5.0 and later.
Eventually it would catch up if you're thinking something sinister.
There would be enough metadata to identify you. Again, if you have to ask something basic like this, to keep it really anonymous is going to take intermediate to advanced level tech knowledge of SSL, VPNs, Android etc

I'm not a new member... My account is about as old as yours, and my rep is hidden lol. Also, I don't pretend to be an expert on anything. It helps me learn (ya know, not being arrogant and talking down to people^) Anyway thanks for semi-humoring my question.

I've got you beat by a year youngin lol But you are higher ranking I see now. I was using the mobile app and for whatever settings you have about you account, it doesn't display member join date or rank like it does with every post viewed through SD website. So I made a mistake in assuming therefore you were new but it had never occurred to me to hide rep level. What's the point if you have your ranking shown because you cannot reach that rank without a certain amount of rep points, right? I'm not a morning person but everything about this just confuses me more but, again, I'm only to blame in that Wink

I know it won't matter to the total but rep given lol.
I do apologise.
I wasn't trying to be condescending sorry it came off that way.
I prejudged. I did.
Lately though, influx of new members, 10 rep or less, have just been very argumentative, when I did try to help so I'm a bit shorter than I used to be.

My only point in asking why someone who just joined the site about anonymity is a bit disconcerting. I have made accounts to just ask random questions on forums, like the other day, had an issue with a mower battery not working and I joined the forum to ask one question. I'm not making an account as a throwaway or anything though.
Just not that into say mowers for example to use it for anything more than that one question.

I get it you aren't new but you have to see my perspective in that no one hides rep so I didn't consider there to be an alternative to you having no rep other than newness

I'm rereading what I wrote and I perhaps you see condescending where I'm just more suspicious. My point was a fair one though I feel and I didn't dismiss your question I gave you information. But to keep that level of anonymity in the theoretical scenario I laid out, don't have any better scenario because you didn't give one, you have to have a technical mastery of Android that an understanding about Google's credit card policy with Google Play Store would come first or during that mastery.

So, in fairness, how could I have done better? Truly, I'm asking and listening.

You never did answer my question poised though which I'm not just asking to question someone but also to perhaps learn something myself in how you answer.
Perhaps there's a scenario where anonymity is not for some questionable morality but just privacy for the sake of it. Would understand.
Sorry again
