If you're considering the kit and dont already have any other long lenses definitely spend the $60 and get the 55-250. Its not great in terms of aperture but the IS is superb and the autofocus is fast.

Agreed. Worst case, if you decide you don't want/need the 55-250, you should have little to no issue reselling it for ~$150.

If I weren't in the middle of buying a house right now, I'd buy the T6i + 55-250 STM, and resell my old T3i + 18-55 STM and 55-250 IS II (non-stm) for like $350.

FYI: No where can resell the 55-250 for $150. Max you can is $100 or less. Doing rebate you can this kit brand new for less than $400 after selling the printer.

Honestly unless youre already a camera reseller on Ebay you are lucky to get $100 for it. I tried selling mine in the $150 range and had absolutely no luck and i have a 100% positive ebay account. To me, for ~100 its very worthwhile to keep as a video lens as all the "Better" long lenses by canon aren't STM!

Way back when I bought my 18-55mm STM, I was able to sell my 18-55mm IS II (craigslist) without much issue for "refurb" price i.e. ~$80 or so.

Even so, if you get $100, you're still making out with a T6i+18-55mm STM for ~$460.

Yeah i can see craigslist in certain areas having decent traction. Personally theres no ****ing way i'd consider buying used vs buying refurb from canon if the price is similar. Their refurbs are mint with a full warranty.

Perfect! I have been waiting for the refurb sale to replace my old T2i. Just placed an order for the 18-55mm STM kit. Thank you.

how does this compare to the 70D?
I'm sure the 70D is better but is the T6i still worth it?

Wondering the same! How does this camera compare with the 70D? this with additional lens for $549 vs 70D with 18-135 for $729?

I'd rather go for the sony, smaller since it's mirrorless and has 4k, that and the sony sensors beat out Canons any day of the week.
The only thing better I would see about this Canon is the flip out screen which would be better for vlogging
