Hong Kong Airlines, a Skytrax-rated 4 out of 5 star for quality, has round trip airfares travelling from Los Angeles (LAX) to Hong Kong (HKG) for $427, including taxes and fees. This is nonstop service.

Travel Availability:

Departs and Returns LAX mid-January - March 24 2018, on most Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Sunday.

Google flights isn't showing exact availability but it's generally within the time frame I provided. I have two samples using Expedia [expedia.com] below. It's a little trial and error but not too bad since I got it on my first two tries.

Hopefully it's not on United. They dislike Asian people. They'll knock you out if you disobey them.

insane price indeed. fwiw, flight deals is reporting a lower price but on air canada. i do not like air canada if i'm not flying to canada because it makes stops. i'm not a big fan of air canada for the lack of nonstops to other countries.
