At this price, it is an excellent deal.
Decent memory with SSD and i5 (even its 4 years old), this computer is ready to go.
Way better than Chromebooks at the save price level.

1366 x 768 resolution. Everything else is great for the price. Reviews complain about the keyboard -- sticking keys and very low key travel.

$22.40 back in eBay Bucks if you qualify for today's 8% offer!

I've got the exact one at work. It's been a great ultra-book so far.

If I install the Cloudready ChromeOS to this laptop, will it better than HP G1 Chromebook? The Chromebook from HP is asking for $600 with an M3 CPU.

Will a 500 gb Samsung 850 EVO SATA III work as a replacement main drive? Those are $150 at different online stores right now.
I'm confused with the specs in HP's product page.

You can configure different drives on refurbio's main page:
https://us.refurb.io/collections/hp-laptops/products/hp-elitebook-840-g1-ultrabook-i5-4300u-8gb-ram-... [refurb.io]
Thanks for the link.
I see 500GB hdd option, but would like to install the Samsung 850 EVO SATA III SSD (should become a beast!). The description about SATA is too generic for me to make a decision.
Will the drive fit? Will the connectors be the same and will the drive be compatible?

The 850 EVO SATA III SSD will work for this laptop. We use these laptops at the company I work for and we will upgrade them with Kingston 240GB SATA III SSDs when a user needs a larger hard drive than the 128 GB drives they came with originally. The 850 EVO is physically the same dimensions as the Kingston and will fit in this laptop. Buy it, it's a great machine. We get no complaints from end users.
