It is an optical cable, nothing more nothing less, most TVs have optical out. If the Bose has optical in, your good.

warning. fakespot gives it an F with almost 98% of the reviews being fake. Just use caution and I know fakespot is just an algorithm, but just giving the heads up.

The speaker would also need to support whatever signal the tv might send out like ac3.

FYI, you don't need toslink if your devices supports audio over HDMI.

In case you're wondering, an HDMI cable will give you superior quality. Of course that's if you have that option.

This will work with any optical plug. I have one going from my TV to my Bose CineWhatever and another one from my PC to a 5.1 stereo receiver. These are just like any other cable. They go in the ports they were made for so it will work for any optical output to any optical input. My advice: if you need one, buy one.

Fakespot is right, a lot sellers are hiring contractors to provide reviews for their products. It was in the news and amazon is aware of it.

This is technically true, HDMI has more bandwidth for audio, but that extra only comes into play with 7.1+ surround streams of very high sample rate, and the difference is most likely inaudible. So don't worry too much. But HDMI is a little better, and generally more convenient.

If you need an optical cable, these ones are probably nice, but so are the less fancy ones. It either passes the pulse code perfectly, or it doesn't pass it at all.

Before everything had HDMI, every surround receiver had optical. Old Denons and Yamahas go for $10 at Goodwill every day. They'll do flawless 7.1, and push more power than their modern replacements. Optical isn't cool anymore, but it works.

My advice: spend 99 cents and get one on eBay. Or spend $3.96 for 4 on eBay and put the 23 cents you saved by not buying this in the bank. RyanG9256 is correct, optical digital cable either works, or it doesn't- there is no benefit to paying more for one of these.

But do the eBay ones give you "Superb Stability" and "Excellent Enjoyment" ? For 99 cent I bet you only get partial stability

If you don't know which toslink cable to choose, always pick larger od size (less likely to bend) and metal connectors (more secure than plastic). For the price, you can buy od 7.0mm and full metal connector cable on eBay so I wouldn't call it slick.
