Are you buying this for gaming? What monitor do you have? The 1080TI is significantly better than the current vega offerings and this is a great price for this card.

Gaming primarily, then mining when not gaming. 1080p now moving to 4K later this year.

Of note, this is not the Xtreme version that was $680 last week. Just their vanilla version, they have a picture of the Xtreme which may fool some people.

Too bad it doesn't fit my Alienware graphic amplifier. Otherwise, I'd buy one.

There is no conceivable scenario barring a HUGE price difference in going with the VEGA over the 1080ti. 1080ti is a far more superior card in every way.

The end of August is generally when I start considering Black Friday...

You can probably just and not worry about the bios. That being said, some people like to pay for slightly better odds in the silicon lottery.

Gotcha, to better address your question, it's hard to predict what GPU's will be selling for in three months due to the volatility of crypto-mining. If cryptos drop, you may see this card at $500 on Black Friday. If they rise slightly and the miners develop a more efficient way of mining with the 1080ti, they may approach the $1,000 range..
