Newegg's eBay shop has the Acer XG270HU 27" monitor on sale for $329. It is the cheapest price I have seen for a 27" 144Hz 1440p monitor. It is a TN panel, but for the price it seems to be a great deal. I have included more information from Newegg's website about the panel below and a link to the product. Enjoy!

"Take your gaming and movies to the next level with the Acer XG270HU monitor. It features 27" large viewing real estate and 2560 x 1440 WQHD resolution that delivers every bit of detail. Everything looks fantastic on the screen thanks to the fast 1ms response time, 144Hz frame rate and ACM 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It also supports FreeSync technology, for tear-free and stutter-free gaming. HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort inputs are built onboard. Plus, its frame-less design with arresting red stand are easy on the eye, while the flicker-less, low dimming and Comfy View technology ensure the Acer XG270HU are comfortable to your eyes."

"The high resolution of this monitor (WQHD, 2560 x 1440 pixels) combines with a rapid refresh rate of 144Hz and a blazingly fast response time of 1ms to deliver ultra-smooth action sequences in great detail. This is also the world's first frameless gaming monitor, so all that action is free to go where your mind goes."

"As a high-end gaming monitor, the XG is designed to handle high rates of data transfer. To get all that data to the monitor quickly and smoothly requires high-bandwidth data cables. That's why these monitors come with high-bandwidth connection ports like HDMI 2.0, DVI (Dual Link), and DisplayPort."

cheapest I've seen (not counting recertified units) since tracking here on slickdeals about a year ago. Bear in mid no Vesa, so you'd have to get an adapter like this if you wanted to mount it https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Mo...B01DAYRXRK

This might be a good deal for a gamer. I have been looking for a non gaming 27" wqhd (60hz is fine). Any suggestions?

It's usually the G-Sync monitors that are more expensive than FreeSync, this is the other way around this time.

This is way overkill for 60Hz non-gaming use, you should easily get a 27" 60Hz monitor for under $200.

I bought this monitor from Jet.com for $322.86 over a year ago. It's a great monitor with some quirks. First, I could get 144Hz over DisplayPort only (I expected it with HDMI as well but the max refresh rate offered in Win10 was 60Hz). Second, I do wish the copper-colored base were a different color, because it can be distracting in situations with lots of ambient light, and if you care about feng shui, it can be nearly impossible to coordinate with other items on your desk, unless you're going for some kind of steampunk setup.

As for the screen, it's excellent. I actually don't mind TN panels and love the deep blacks they provide. And though I don't have an AMD card to take advantage of FreeSync (I use a GTX 1070), I believe it's a fine choice for Team Green because of the 144Hz refresh rate and generally solid specs. I use it for gaming, video and general use, and it's served me well for over a year now.

Oh God I was holding on for something 4k but this just seems too good to pass up...
Honestly. 4k is overrated. You can only tell the difference 2 feet or closer. I have the 55" Samsung . Very nice but only have it because of a sale.

Which one would you recommend for the non gaming use? I've been looking and haven't found anything under 300. Keep in mind I'm looking for 1440p resolution as well.

Thanks!

Why would you need 1440p if you're not gaming? 1080p is fine for non-gaming use.

more pixels = more stuff on the screen. 1080 is probably fine on a 23"/24" but if you go up to 27", more pixels is better.

I suppose. In that case, you aren't likely to find a non-gaming 1440p monitor, but *in general* freesync monitors tend to be cheaper than g-sync monitors, so ~$300ish is probably about right for a 27" 1440p monitor.
