Deals like these bring out both elitists and uninformed retards. I consider myself a normal guy who got into this audiophile game recently by last year's B-stock LCD-2 deal for $500, and I'm glad I did (I gladly upvoted this deal, and not a shill in the slightest).

Experiencing these cans is a unique experience, $700 is a decent price (better to measure a 'deal' by the way out, ie how much you could sell used after trying them out, and not by absolute price, and you'll find that it's a fairly safe buy-in at this price).

Anyways, don't knock them until you tried them, and stop hating when you don't have a clue.

I wonder if the success of the M1060 is going to start causing more price drops on these.

I'd doubt it. The LCD-2 came out in like 2009, and they've been charging the same exact price since then. There's been lots of other successful planar headphones that have come out since then.

The LCD-2 are one of the heaviest headphones out there, as has been mentioned, and you also should factor the price of a headphone amplifier at the least with them. They need some power.

These are the worst Top tier headphone I ever owned. Super heavy, uncomfy, worst fit. The sound is dull + worst dynamic, worst micro detail, worst soundstage. The stax such as Sr007 or 009 simply leave these Audeze's in dust. The only quite good thing is the bass that can get quite low but that's it.

That's my honest opinion and I used to own at least 6 TOTL headphones since 2010 (sold most of them though). High end headphones prices now are super inflated, these LCD2 should have been $450 MSRP to start with.Ha ha

Anyone have first-hand experience on what used lcd2s go for in rosewood? Have a good opportunity to grab a lyr2 and bifrost but I have to buy the lcd2s as well.

I had the 2.1s. Perhaps you didn't have a decent DAC and amp paired with them? I had a Wyred4Sound Dac-1 and it sounded fantastic. I had some Koss-950. Excellent instrument separation and a somewhat holographic sound. Unfortunately, they are very light on bass.
