Deal is back again. Got a Frys.com email today [frys.com] that said to use the promo code within it to get the $79.99 price, so check your inbox if you've subscribed to Fry's emails. Shipping was free for me although it seems like there's a 2-week back-order wait.

Sale ends 8/26/17 while supplies lasts, no rainchecks.

It is a good price, if they can manage to sell it and ship it instead of making it "in store only" deal.

I got it for $70 from Fry's after about two years of trying.

Been waiting for this deal! Well, really the $70 sale they have every few months would have been ideal, but my electronics repairs have been stacking up, so this will do.

A little confused by the post and the first comment though, as it's showing as being on sale for $79.99 with free shipping on their site, no promo code, though it is on backorder now.

I was able to order it for $69 in Sept of 2016, but I had to pay $16 for UPS shipping but was charged no sale tax. It was good enough for me.

FWIW

those of you still using the harbor freight or 10$ radio shack iron, i highly suggest you upgrade to a nice unit like this one.

I've soldered probably over 1000 different PIC Chips/pin headers and this unit has never failed me.

I'm on my second hakko station and would give it two thumbs up to anyone looking to improve their work.

You can only be as good as the tools you use.

I bought it for $70 a couple months ago. I got Home Depot to do a price match with free shipping.

Fry's notoriously has deals that are available online to ship, and then after a short period of time the deal will become "in store only".

Would be nice if the person posting the deal would post a screenshot or picture of the coupon that shows the price and free shipping. This way we can use it to try to get a price match when Fry's runs out of their promo limt which is tiny.

That makes sense. I was just confused, because: a) the first comment made it sound like it was already marked as "in store only" when I was still seeing it as available for shipping, and b) the OP said the price was with promo code, but I was seeing that same price on the website as a regular sale without any promo code necessary.

If you're working with anything sensitive or electronics related then absolutely. I've been holding out for a while but I have to admit the Harbor Freight one is like using a blowtorch

Chinese clone "Yihua 937D+" is better and way cheaper ($27).
