As an owner of this card I can tell you four things:
1. Price is not the lowest for a 1080 ti, but it is a good price.
2. This card is UGLY. It is a giant plastic box.
3. This card performs like a champ and benchmarks higher than most 1080ti's while staying cool with the stock fan curve.
4. Has no coil whine from the fan MOTOR AMP DRAW. (edit because everyone assumed I thought whine came from the fan motor and not the board components shake head).

Gotta wait a month for this to be delivered. Will be regular ti price by then.

I don't know how you all do it. I love the idea of massdrop, but one I've made a buying decision I can't wait a week much less a month (or longer, right hd-6xx?).

I agree with not wanting to wait, but disagree with the price leveling off. 1070/1080 prices are still inflated and are often out of stock. Crypto farming has changed the game.

To an extent i agree with you, if you need the gfx now its might not be worth the wait. Yet if your upgrading, the price can be worth it.
Secondly, the market was suppose to drop in prices with the launch of Vega, but we all know how that has gone so far. So personally I am betting the price are not going down anytime soon. Well in my humble opinion, i cannot say for others.

Not anytime soon is a relative term. This card will drop significantly when Volta for consumers comes out. Latest rumors pinpoint to Q4 or early Q1/Computex timeframe but most likely Q4 which makes sense given that the enterprise version launched a couple months ago. With supposedly a bigger jump than Pascal was from Maxwell , it is a highly anticipated release, I just don't know how mining may affect this as far as releases and pricing.

You can pay $40 for "expedited shipping" [newegg.com] to get it in a few days. Smilie

I hate waiting, too.

Nvidia has no pressure to release a new card in Q4, they will wait until 2018.

TRUE , but its not like they were pressured by somebody when they released Pascal. Maxwell was still plenty powerfull (heck still is for some). I mean AMD still after a year have not caught up so they are pretty much out. Nvidia is competing with themselves or so they have for the past like few years.

As an owner of a 1080ti (I went with EVGA), I can say that these are a beast. My Rift is smoooooooth with this card and it's proven to be overkill with everything I've thrown at it so far.

Nvidia pretty clearly say they aren't releasing Volta in 2017. They specifically said pascal is unbeatable for the holiday season, the foreseeable future. And even if Volta did come out, it'll be out of stock for ages and you'd have to wait for the custom cards.
