Well, if this isn't your hobby that is understandable. There are people that pay more than 1K for an MP3 player. These are also the people that will pay hundreds and hundreds for headphones. We all have something we will spend a lot extra than would be labeled as sensible by some.

I know people that buy guns that they cannot shoot, and spend ridiculous amounts for them, or buy cars they will never drive simply because they want to.

By no means is this an attempt at converting you, to the contrary it is meant to just mention that we don't all value the same things in the same way. That is all.

Can I also make useless posts about products I know nothing about and have no intention on purchasing?

I'm curious, why does this need 16 of GB ram?

Hey Circa, definitely a typo. The device has 1GB of RAM. This player is pretty sweet but you are right that 16gb would be completely unnecessary. Android 5.1 would have no idea what to do with all that Smilie

I will say if I didn't already have my Pioneer I would be considering this. I like that it has music mode and android mode to save battery life as these Android-based players are about as good as the phones at lasting in terms of battery life between charges.

This ain't nothing but a fancy Walkman that all this is. This year and age people use their smart phone as portable music player no need to go by $300 Walkman.

The manufacturer suggests the following range for headphones: 16~150 Ω so the Audeze are golden at only 70, and the HD600 come in at 300, I'd say skip the Sennies or amp it.

Pretty sure most phones support Poweramp, which plays most lossless formats...

I already have a LG V20 that drives my HD600. Any reason why I should upgrade(Downgrade ? side grade? ) to this ?

So then the issue becomes how good is the DAC, or Digital-Analog Converter. As mentioned earlier, this appeals to audiophiles, most people will be satisfied with the audio output from their phone.

Hey Stryker, realistically speaking, if you are happy with the V20 then this would only make sense if you wanted a device dedicated for audio without running down the battery on your phone.

I dont disagree with you, just stating pretty much any phone made in the last few years will play lossless music.

I wish my ears were good enough to enjoy music like audiophiles can. Ive been to too many loud concerts and played too much loud music in my life to be able to tell the difference in sound quality between something like this paired with some nice Audeze 'phones and my Galaxy S8 with my M50x's

from what i understand it's what' left from the OS. android-based OS needs some space and i 16GB won't cost a lot.
just a theory tho...
