I bought the Traditional PRO-II last time but don't quite like the built-in boost. I'm thinking to get the PlusTop PRO this time.

Besides the boost, the neck pickup is different between PRO and PRO-II:
PRO: ProBucker 2
PRO-II: Alnico Classic PRO

I guess their description "Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Traditional PRO-II Electric Guitar (Open Box) " is wrong. I can't even select a style on that page but I could the other two models. It could be one of my browser plugins.

Works well here. Weird though - last time there was also someone saying it's open box. Guess it's a browser issue.

Isn't the "built-in boost" preferred when it's coil splitting?

I usually use a pedal so the boost is redundant to me. Hate to take care of more batteries.

I thought the Alnico magnets supplied the boost, and are considered passive?..

It needs a 9V battery for the boost, but yeah the pickups are still passive.

I now have the same problem. I've visited the Open Box section and now on the new product page it still says Open Box and nothing could be selected, with the price of new showing.

This is indeed very misleading and I'm pretty sure it's browser cookie issue.

I'm using Firefox 55.0.1 with noscript and ublock origin add-ons if that helps. Maybe try clearing your cookies and/or cache and see if it helps.

You know what's funny is that it's working for me now and I haven't cleared anything.
