Fakespot is a website that reviews the reviews from Amazon. Some companies will have 100s or 1000s of fake positive reviews for their product which is actually inferior (piece of crap). Fakespot weeds through these using algorithms, human investigation, and possibly the reading of chicken bones (jk). They then give the product a letter grade just like in school (ie A - F). You can use these grades to make a more informed decision as to the quality of the reviews and said product.

So a Fakespot Grade = A is in all likelihood a good testimonial as to the quality of the product.

As with anything they are not infallible and proper decision making should be used. If your GPS says turn left and to your left you see nothing but water it's probably not a good idea. Unless you are in a boat.

Fakespot uses some kind of algorithm to find out how legit the ratings are, and based on that gives the reviews a grade. Naturally the better the grade the more authentic the reviews are likely to be and hence the better the product is likely to be in reality.

We've bought a bunch of these off of eBay with good luck, just search for elm327 and pick the cheapest one. They're all knockoffs at this price point, no sense to pay extra.

iOS is highly restrictive of what bluetooth profiles it will support and won't work with OBD readers. Get a wifi one instead, they are usually only a few dollars more (ironically the wifi ones don't work well with Android because Android will try to route internet over the wifi and will disconnect when it can't).
