If it's like diaper genie, yes indeed it has its own expensive proprietary bags. We had a diaper *champ* which took costco (or any other) trash bags and kept the smell inside. So look for a Litter Champ if such exists.

There is also a way to use your own trash bags with this system. Check youtube and i think one of the Amazon vudeo reviews explains how as well.

From what I've read, the trash bags don't contain the smell nearly enough so if you buy this you really need the proprietary bags.

Which is just insane. Get a damn bucket with a lid. Get some poop bags. Fill the poop bags and put em in the bucket for a few days then take it out to the trash can. Honestly it's not hard work and one of those Tidy cat or litter refill buckets keeps that shit airtight enough for a couple of days at LEAST.

I went to my local Petco near Union Square in NYC and was able to pick up a copy of the rebate form. The main restriction is that the rebate covers up to $22.99 (and excludes taxes). In NYC, the price in-store was $25 + tax. I didn't think to ask them to match their online price, which is $16.09 for the blue model, but I'm not sure that I would still qualify for the MIR if I did.

For anyone using this type of product:
Get a litter Locker 2(II) and get Litter Locker 1 refills. They can be forced in even though they technically aren't supposed to be compatible and contain probably 5-10 times the length of the plastic bag material than the specific Litter Locker II refills. It saves you about that same amount in refills and you can stock up on decent deals.

We line the bottom with plastic grocery bags, with the initial plastic roll extending down into it as an open chute and have had zero problems with smell. Bought a second one for my partner's parents and they've been happy with theirs as well.

Well I use my litter genie for my elderly grandma who poops her pants a lot, I don't want to disgrace her by putting her poo undies in some common low budget Home Depot eye sore hhmph

How did they get in touch? I can't even get a response from them. I've left two voicemails.

I also took pictures. Maybe if there are enough of us we can raise a stink.
